Save an average of 30 gallons of water per load and prevent 2 plastic buckets from going to the landfill! The Hand-Operated Washing Bucket is made from two repurposed 5 gallon buckets. All buckets are waste from local businesses in the Willamette Valley that would have otherwise gone into a landfill.

One 5 gallon bucket remains intact, while the other consists of evenly spaced holes for draining. A plunger with holes is also provided as a tool for the washing function. This hand-operated washing machine allows for a quick, easy, and convenient way to wash garments for people who aim to conserve energy, do not have access to a conventional washer, live in a small space, are out camping, or want a separate place to wash messier items such as cleaning rags, pet supplies, or even delicate fabrics.

All buckets are food grade and are safe for handling and washing materials. Please note that orders of bucket products only ship on Mondays and Thursdays.

Buckets Stacked

Width (top of bucket): 12 in

Width (bottom of bucket): 10 ⅜ in

Height: 18 ½ in

Plunger

Width (Plunger Head): 5 ¼ in

Length (Plunger Head + Handle): 18 in

Included Materials:

  • User instruction sheet
  • Two 5-gallon buckets (one with holes and one without)
  • One plunger with holes
  • One 5-gallon bucket lid with opening for plunger

Note: Buckets are repurposed and may have minor scratches or scuffs, but these marks do not impact the integrity or function of the buckets in any way. As they are from a bakery, there may be a slight scent of pickle, peanut butter, or molasses, which will dissipate over time. Additionally, bucket lids are repurposed from molasses buckets, and have X’s cut in them. The X’s are sealed with waterproof glue and a heavy duty Branching Together sticker, so water will not seep through.
